Our passion is making the most nutritious, delicious chocolate that is good for your health, good for the planet and good for people.
Yes, we are still talking about chocolate, but as women have instinctively known since chocolate was first tasted, chocolate is something more than just a tasty treat. Or it can be, as long as it is made with the care and devotion we bring to the mix.
Yes, we all want chocolate, that's somehow wired into our human DNA, but now we know that our bodies are complex machines that are in constant dialogue with the world around us. We absorb nutrients, but also seem able to absorb experiences and this means it's not only important to know what we are eating is pure and free from contaminants, but how it's made also counts.
We want our eggs from free-range chickens because the experience of the chicken actually counts. Grass-fed, open-range beef is a healthier choice on every level that counts as compared to meat from an animal packed in a corn-feed lot.
So, when we talk about chocolate, we actually begin that conversation way back in our own lives with a complete reformation of our own nutritional intake and therefore health destiny (see Julie's GAPS blog here). Many years of active thought and careful experimentation and observation led us to the conclusion that not only is chocolate important, but that it has to be made right.
We actually love making our chocolate and that love is in every bar. And of course we assure that all of our ingredients are non- GMO, fair trade and organically produced.
Where we depart from virtually every other chocolate maker is in the use of honey as our one and only sweetener. Why honey? Because honey is the least processed of all sweeteners, is absorbed differently than refined sugar and thus, causes a more gradual rise in blood sugar.
This means our chocolate is Paleo compliant and Paleo certified. It also means you can enjoy it without worrying about ingesting refined sugar which causes a host of health issues in a large number of people.

Julie, through her passion for food, went in search of finding a chocolate that was both gourmet and healthy. When she couldn't find one, adventure and creativity guided Julie through her dreams of creating an organic raw chocolate, loaded with health benefits, without the junk. She brought raw chocolate to life in her Carlisle, MA farm house and Pure7 chocolate was born. Just pure. Free of sugar, dairy, wheat and gluten.
Carrie has been cooking delicious meals for friends and family for over 20 years. She has always had a passion for gourmet food and challenged herself to re-create favorite recipes at home but always made sure to use local, organic and high quality ingredients. Both having similar passions, she and Julie became fast friends and worked together in the farm kitchen to create a raw chocolate without refined sugars, gluten, dairy and soy. Having many years of home culinary experience under her belt, Carrie easily took the role of Head Chocolatier. Since launching Pure7 Chocolate in October 2013, Carrie and Julie have been trained and mentored by a top chocolatier out of New York City and continue to bring to the world the healthiest, tastiest and highest quality chocolate worthy of not only the health conscious but also true chocolate connoisseurs.
